This past week we traveled via car through 9 different states– totaling 2,340 miles. Cooler full of water & Gatorade. Hands full of Pistachios and Jerky. We saw 37 different license plates and hit between 978 – 2183 bugs, give or take. Gas prices ranged anywhere from $1.87 – $2.23 (Kroger discounts not included).
Here’s a FUN FACT: Illinois has the most personalized license plates (from what we observed anyhow).
We had a great trip, but it was a tough ride for our little guy, going from Texas to Kentucky to Indiana and back to Texas. However I think all the hugs & kisses made it totally worth every mile. He is so loved and we are so blessed.
We made some pretty awesome memories. CW got to hang out with lots of family and wish his Great Nana & Pap a Happy 50 Years of Marriage! He visited his GiGi’s house in Indiana for the first time, met his Triple Great Grandpa, we saw Noah’s Ark, the St. Louis Arch, and lots of fireworks. We ate pizza in a porch swing, and LOTS of Grippos (which, by the way, you’re totally missing out on if you haven’t had them). They’ve been around since 1919, come on guys, get your lives together! Okay, I’ll give ya a break, because I’ve only found them in KY, or online here.
Anywho order them, try them, get addicted! Bon e petite! You’re Welcome. 😉
What are some of your favorite road trip stops? Favorite snacks? What do you do to pass the time? Play games?
Until next time….
